Here is a brief introduction to the breeding method of Tenebrio molitor for your reference.
I. Biological characteristics of Tenebrio molitor
Tenebrio molitor is a completely deformed insect.
Its life goes through four stages: egg, larva, pupa and adult (namely moth).
Tenebrio molitor larvae have molted many times and their body length has been increasing.
When the body grows to 23 cm, it begins to pupate.
At room temperature of 2530℃, the pupa became an adult after 3 days, and then began to lay eggs and died.
When the room temperature is suitable, it takes about 40 days to breed 1 generation.
Second, the breeding technology of Tenebrio molitor
Tenebrio molitor needs aluminum foil to lay eggs.
The spawning box is generally 2 layers, and the bottom layer is the egg receiving layer, the size of which depends on the number. Nail fiberboard or wooden board at the bottom, spread egg paper on it, and nail 35cm high wooden board on the four walls.
After the spawning box is completed, the adults can be placed on the middle gauze and allowed to mate and lay eggs freely.
After laying meta-eggs, slowly take out the egg-receiving paper, and when larvae are found on the egg-receiving paper, they can be put into the feeding box for feeding.
Third, the feeding management of Tenebrio molitor
The equipment for raising Tenebrio molitor is simple, and can be raised in tanks, pots, boxes and ponds.
(1) The size of the basin can be arbitrary, and the inner wall must be smooth to prevent insects from crawling out.
A small amount of feeding, pots and pans are all good tools.
(2) The wooden box is an ideal place for breeding Tenebrio molitor.
Its advantage is that it is easy to move and manage, and the box can be erected layer by layer with wooden frames, which can make full use of space.
The periphery of the basin is fixed with plastic sheets, and the height is 10 cm.
(3) Establish an insect pond in Huangshan for large-scale breeding.
The size of the pond depends on the amount of feeding. Ponds should be built on the ground and at the bottom of the pond. The four walls of the buckle should be plastered with cement, and the inner wall should be fixed with plastic sheets or glass to prevent insects from crawling out.
Fourth, the problems that should be paid attention to in feeding Tenebrio molitor
(1) Tenebrio molitor has a bad habit of killing each other, so we should keep eggs and pupae separately.
(2) It is normal for male adults and some elderly female adults to die after mating, and the bodies should be removed in time to avoid rot and deterioration and cause infectious diseases.
(3) The egg paper should be replaced every 35 days. The next egg-pressed paper should be gently rolled into a tube and placed in the feeding box. Never touch or squeeze it.
(4) Larvae can grow normally only by feeding bran.
In order to promote their spawning, adults need to feed more nutritious food, such as mixed grains or a small amount of fish meal in bran.
(5) The newly peeled adults are very delicate and have weak resistance. They can't eat mountain materials with too much water, but only vegetables or melons with less water.
(6) The temperature is high in summer, and the larvae grow fast. Pay attention to feeding more fruits and water, peeling them in time, and paying attention to ventilation and moisture prevention.
