Marguerite is also known as basil chrysanthemum and chrysanthemum chrysanthemum. The following is the experience of raising Margaret, compiled for reference.
1. Soil. Margaret likes loose, fertile and well-drained soil.
Soil: 5 parts black mountain soil, 5 parts peat soil. If you don’t have black mountain soil, you can use garden soil instead.
2. Cuttings: Margaret does not seem to produce seeds, and its reproduction mainly relies on cuttings.
Generally, a covered seedling box is used for cutting. The soil used for cutting is peat soil plus vermiculite, or peat soil plus perlite. The best cutting seasons are spring and autumn, and cuttings are also easy to survive in the other two seasons. The cuttings are always placed on the terrace. Except in summer, the seedling box cover is covered during cuttings in the other three seasons. This can retain water and heat and improve the survival rate of the cuttings. In summer, the cuttings are placed directly in the flower pot, because the seedling pot is too small and the water easily evaporates.
3. Fertilizer. Generally, sufficient base fertilizer is applied when repotting and planting, and no fertilizer is applied at other times. Use chicken manure and a small amount of slow-release fertilizer as the base fertilizer. Since the chicken manure has already been cooked, a little more does not matter. The amount of slow-release fertilizer must be controlled according to the size of the pot. The most important thing is that the roots cannot come into contact with the fertilizer. Occasionally add some fertilizer during the flowering period, using the one that will bloom.
4. Environment: Margaret has been kept on the terrace. In summer, it does not spend too much time in direct sunlight. In winter, the pots that need to be maintained will be placed out of reach of rain.
5. Pruning. Generally, Margaret is not pruned. Only the branches that are particularly long will be shortened during the seedling stage.
6. How Margaret became a ball. Horses that have just been cut from cuttings will not grow into very tight balls in the first year. After the intense heat in summer and the severe cold in winter, horses will easily grow into very tight balls. Everyone should pay attention to that after summer and winter, many leaves may dry up. As long as there is still green in the center of the branches, do not discard them. Maintain and water them normally. In March or April of the next year, sort out the dead leaves and repot them with fertilizer. It will be done soon. It can grow very dense branches and buds, and the volume will be more than 3 or 4 times its original size.
Sunshine is also very important. Sunshine and rain are the best nourishment for plants.
