Morphological characteristics of cowpea;
Bean is an annual vegetable of Vigna Leguminosae. Annual twining, herbaceous lianas or nearly erect herbs, sometimes with twining tips. Stems subglabrous. Pinnate compound leaves with 3 leaflets; Stipules lanceolate, about 1 cm long, with a short distance and linear lines at the insertion point; Leaflets are ovate-rhombic, 5- 15 cm long and 4-6 cm wide, with acute apex and entire or nearly entire edges, sometimes lavender and glabrous.
Beans are heat-resistant vegetables, which can resist high temperature and frost. According to the determination of seed germination rate by Vegetable Research Institute of China Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the suitable temperature for seed germination is 25-35℃, and the germination rate and germination potential are the best at 35℃. Below 20℃, germination is slow and the germination rate decreases, while below 15℃, the germination rate and germination potential are poor.
