Hollowwort is cold in nature.
Annual herb, trailing or floating in water. Stem cylindrical, nodding, hollow between the nodes, rooting at the nodes, glabrous.
Leaf blade variable in shape and size, ovate, long ovate, long ovate-lanceolate or lanceolate, 3.5-17 cm long, 0.9-8.5 cm wide, acute or acuminate at the tip, with a small mucro, cordate, hastate or aristate at the base, occasionally truncate, entire or undulate, or sometimes with a few coarse teeth at the base, both surfaces subglabrous or occasionally sparsely pilose; petiole 3-14 cm long, glabrous.
Cold foods include:
Mustard greens, bitter gourd, winter squash, cabbage, broccoli, lotus root, seaweed, kelp, papaya, taro and so on belong to the cold vegetables; duck, rabbit, crabmeat, snail and so on belong to the cold meats; and cold fruits including dragon fruit, Sydney, watermelon, mangosteen, kiwi, bananas and so on.
