The Humboldt squid is known for its highly aggressive and ferocious feeding style, and is sometimes referred to as the "red devil". It typically inhabits the Gulf of California in the Pacific Ocean at depths of up to 700 meters, and can grow up to 1 or 8 meters long, with powerful limbs and antennae that can easily catch and kill other fish. It is famous for its excellent underwater vision and for its ability to glow and change colors when it is excited.
Typically found in deep-sea areas, mainly in the North Atlantic and North Pacific, the king squid is estimated to be about 20 meters long and is one of the second-largest known mollusks and invertebrates. The king squid lives in the deep sea, rests in the deep sea during the day and swims to the shallow sea at night to feed on fish, and is able to catch its prey in the pitch-black waters. It often has to fight to the death with sperm whales that dive into the deep sea to feed.
