1. TCM treatment of climacteric period
1. Deficiency of kidney yin: patients with hyperactivity of liver yang have dizziness, brain ringing or tinnitus, dry mouth and throat, paroxysmal fever, sweating, irritability, vexation and heat, pain in waist and knees, or early menstruation, or irregular menstruation, bright red menstruation, more or less amount, red tongue with little fur and thready pulse.
therapeutic principle: nourishing kidney yin, assisting with latent yang.
prescription: zuoguiyin is modified.
Commonly used drugs: Radix Rehmanniae Preparata, Rhizoma Dioscoreae, Fructus Lycii, Corni Fructus, Poria, Radix Polygoni Multiflori Preparata, Carapax et Plastrum Testudinis, Fructus Ligustri Lucidi and Ecliptae Herba. If dizziness is severe, Gastrodia elata, Uncaria Uncaria and Concha Haliotidis are added to calm the liver and calm the wind, or Achyranthes bidentata is added to draw blood downward. If irritable, hypochondriac pain, bitter taste, insomnia and dreaminess, Prunella vulgaris, Agrimonia pilosa, Radix Scutellariae and Caulis Polygoni Multiflori should be added to calm the liver and nourish yin. If palpitation, insomnia, dreaminess and forgetfulness occur, Radix Ophiopogonis, Radix Asparagi, Radix Codonopsis, Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae, Poria, Semen Ziziphi Spinosae, Cortex et Radix Polygalae, Fructus Schisandrae Chinensis and Semen Platycladi should be added to nourish kidney, calm heart and soothe nerves, or Tianwang Buxin Dan should be taken.
2. Deficiency of kidney-yang: the patient's complexion is dull, his spirit is listless, his limbs are cold, his waist and knees are sore and cold, he suffers from anorexia and abdominal distension, his stool is thin, or he has a heavy menstrual flow, or he has a sudden collapse, and his face is pale or dark with lumps, his limbs are swollen, he has nocturia or frequent incontinence, or he has loose leucorrhea. The tongue is light, fat and tender with teeth marks, the coating is thin and white, and the pulse is heavy and weak.
therapeutic principle: warming kidney and supporting yang, and warming middle energizer and strengthening spleen.
prescription: Yougui pill and Lizhong pill.
Commonly used drugs: Radix Rehmanniae Preparata, Corni Fructus, Zingiberis Rhizoma, Colla cornus Cervi, Eucommiae Cortex, Semen Cuscutae, Radix Codonopsis, Atractylodis Rhizoma, Herba Epimedii, Rhizoma Curculiginis, etc. If loose stool, add nutmeg to relieve diarrhea. If the kidney is deficient in both yin and yang, mixed with each other, sometimes afraid of cold, sometimes sweating with heat, dizziness and tinnitus, backache and weakness, thin tongue coating, and thready pulse, the prescription should be modified with Erxian Decoction, and the medicinal curculigo, Epimedium, Angelica, Morinda officinalis, Cortex Phellodendri and Anemarrhena together with Erzhi Pill.
2. Prescription for climacteric Chinese medicine conditioning
Qiqi Dihuang Ointment: 25g of Lycium barbarum, 25g of Radix Rehmanniae Preparata and 25g of Chrysanthemum, 3g of Prunella vulgaris and 2g of Herba Epimedii, and maltose or Yuanzhen sugar can be added as appropriate to decoct and boil the ointment. 15 grams each time, twice a day. It is suitable for the syndrome of yin deficiency of liver and kidney and hyperactivity of liver yang.
Huaiyao Ligustrum lucidum decoction: 3g of Dioscorea opposita, 15g of Ligustrum lucidum, 6g of Schisandra chinensis, decocted in water, one dose per day. It is suitable for the syndrome of deficiency of kidney yin and restlessness.
Ganmai Jujube Soup: 9 grams of licorice, 15 grams of wheat and 1 jujubes, decocted in water, one dose per day, and decocted in water instead of tea. It is suitable for the syndrome of liver-yin deficiency and mental dystrophy.
Wuwei Buxue decoction: Radix Astragali, Caulis Polygoni Multiflori each 3g, Radix Angelicae Sinensis 1g, Folium Mori 12g, and Radix Notoginseng 6g are decocted in water, one dose per day. It is suitable for patients with fatigue, insomnia, dreaminess, palpitation and shortness of breath due to deficiency of both qi and blood.
Danggui Shaoyao Powder: 1 grams of Angelica sinensis and Ligusticum chuanxiong, 12 grams of Poria, Radix Paeoniae Alba, Rhizoma Atractylodis and Alismatis Rhizoma are decocted in water. It is suitable for people with blood deficiency and spleen weakness, fever and sweating, uneasy mind, swollen face and floating limbs, numbness and itching of skin.
Xiaoyao powder: 6 grams of Bupleurum and Glycyrrhiza, 1 grams of Radix Paeoniae Alba, Radix Rehmanniae, Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae and Poria, and 3 grams of Herba Menthae for oral administration. It is suitable for patients with liver depression, spleen deficiency, dizziness, fever, depression, chest tightness and abdominal distension.
3. Menopausal dietary remedies
1. lotus lily porridge
Materials: 4g of lotus seeds, 3g of lilies and 5g of rice.
Practice:
(1) Wash the lotus seeds, lilies and rice, put them together in a pot, and add a proper amount of water to boil.
(2) After boiling, turn to low heat and cook slowly until it is cooked.
Efficacy: Lotus seeds have the functions of nourishing the heart and kidney, tonifying the spleen and stopping diarrhea, while lily has the functions of clearing away the heart and calming the nerves, nourishing the yin and moistening the lungs. 2. Ganmai Jujube Soup
Materials: 18g of wheat, 12g of roasted licorice and 9 jujubes.

(2) Turn to low heat and decoct until the wheat is thick, take the decoction twice, and mix it evenly before drinking.
Efficacy: Ganmai Jujube Decoction is a good prescription for treating female climacteric symptoms in Han Dynasty. In this decoction, wheat nourishing heart liquid and liver yin have the functions of relieving annoyance and stopping sweating, and licorice relieves heart fire; Jujube nourishes blood and regulates the spleen and stomach. Taking Ganmai Jujube Soup regularly can not only relieve the symptoms of female menopause, but also enhance physical fitness. 3. Alpinia oxyphylla glutinous rice porridge
Materials: 5 grams of Alpinia oxyphylla, 5 grams of glutinous rice and a little salt.

(1) Grinding Alpinia oxyphylla into powder.
(2) After washing the glutinous rice, put it in a pot and add a proper amount of water to cook it into porridge.
(3) After the porridge is cooked, add Alpinia oxyphylla powder and salt and cook for a while.

4. Blood-enriching porridge for menopausal women
