It's literally like Joey was hiding a pair of small feet all along, but let Ross reveal them, so he felt embarrassed.

If you want to dig deeper, there was another episode earlier where the 6 of them were discussing the size of a man's place, and I forget who said that the size of the feet had something to do with that. That was a couple seasons ago though. I think ross said that, just literally.
