Small scientific papers on primary school students' seed germination experiment
Seed germination process 1. Experiment 1. Materials and tools (1) 40 Common seeds (such as mung beans and soybeans). (2) There are 4 cans with lids, 1 spoon, 8 napkins, 4 labels marked with 1, 2, 3 and 4 respectively, glue and water. 2. Method steps (1) Put two napkins in the first can, then put 10 mung beans with a spoon and tighten the bottle cap. Leave it at room temperature. (2) In the second pot, put two napkins, then put 10 mung beans with a small spoon, sprinkle a little water to make the napkins wet, and tighten the bottle cap. Leave it at room temperature. (3) In the third pot, put two napkins, put 10 mung beans with a small spoon, pour more water to submerge the seeds in the water, and then tighten the bottle cap. Leave it at room temperature. (4) In the fourth pot, put two napkins, put 10 mung beans with a small spoon, sprinkle a little water to make the napkins wet, and tighten the bottle cap. Put it in a low temperature environment. Through observation, I found that the seeds of 1, 3 and 4 tanks did not germinate, while the seeds of 2 tanks germinated. Second, learn 1. Why do the seeds of the same variety germinate, but some don't? When seeds germinate, they must first absorb water. Nutrients in cotyledons or endosperm are transported to radicle, embryo and hypocotyl. Subsequently, the radicle develops, breaks through the seed coat and forms roots. The hypocotyl is elongated and the embryo develops into stems and leaves. However, the germination of seeds needs suitable temperature, sufficient air and water. The seed 1 did not germinate because there was enough air and suitable temperature, but there was no water, so it could not germinate. The second seed not only has proper temperature and sufficient water, but also has water, so it germinates. No.3 seed does not germinate because it is completely soaked in water, and there is no oxygen in the water, so it cannot germinate. No.4 seed didn't germinate because of the lack of suitable temperature. Third, the discussion results Through this experiment, I found that the germination of seeds needs sufficient air, water and suitable temperature. After careful observation, I also saw some thin, white root hairs on the germinated plants, which can actually improve water absorption. The experiment brought me a lot of fun and learned a lot from it. Biology is really amazing.
