What is diabetes?
Symptoms and classification "Diabetes" is a disease in which glucose in the blood tends to accumulate too much. It is nicknamed "Silent Killer" abroad, especially "adult diabetes". The infection rate of middle-aged people over 40 years old is particularly high. In Japan, the population over 40 years old accounts for 10%, that is, there is one "diabetic" patient in ten people. Once suffering from "diabetes", life expectancy will be reduced by as much as ten years, and possible complications will spread all over the body. "Diabetes" itself also brings people great pain. It often makes people feel thirsty and want to drink water, and they wake up many times in the middle of the night because of excessive urination. Although I have eaten a lot of food, I still feel hungry, lose weight, sleep, etc., which always makes people feel that something is wrong with me. By the time you can feel the obvious situation somewhere, the condition of "diabetes" has developed to a certain extent. And terrible complications are quietly developing all over the body. The so-called "diabetes" complications can go from the top of the head to the bottom of the foot-anxiety, autonomic nervous disorder, neurological disorder (paralysis of hands and feet, paralysis of consciousness), cerebral thrombosis, brain obstruction, cataract, tooth decay, stomatitis, bronchitis, skin disease, myocardial infarction, pneumonia, tuberculosis, cirrhosis, abnormal fertility, abortion, renal insufficiency, uremia, impotence, female lower body inflammation. Among these complications, retinopathy, nephropathy and neurological disorders are the most common, which are called the "three major complications" of diabetes. These three major complications are within 20 years after the birth of "diabetes", and 80% of people will definitely suffer from these diseases. Arteriosclerosis is also included, because the excess glucose in the blood gradually corrodes the organs and tissues of the whole body. Once suffering from "diabetes", the human body's troubles will follow, because the immune function is weakened, and it is easy to be infected with various infectious diseases caused by colds, pneumonia and tuberculosis, and it is not easy to cure. And can selectively destroy cells and phagocytize cells. The defense function of anti-cancer cells will be greatly weakened, so that cancer cells will be active and aggregated, leading to cancer patients. Diseases that cause such a wide range of complications are almost rare except "diabetes". Because of complications, some people say that once you have diabetes, your life expectancy will be reduced by at least ten years. At present, there are more than 92 million diabetic patients in China, and another 1 15000 people will become patients, so China has replaced Indian and become the largest country in diabetes in the world. The earliest medical books in China, Huangdi Neijing Su Wen and Lingshu, recorded the name of "diabetes". Zhang Zhongjing, a famous doctor in the Han Dynasty, also recorded the symptoms of "Sanduo" in the article "Digest of the Golden Chamber". In the early years of the Tang Dynasty, Zhen Liyan, a famous Chinese physician, first pointed out that the urine of patients with diabetes is sweet. Diabetes score 1 type diabetes and type 2 diabetes. Among diabetic patients, the proportion of type 2 diabetes is about 95%. 1 type diabetes mellitus, in which 1 type diabetes mellitus mostly occurs in adolescents, relies on exogenous insulin supplementation to maintain life due to lack of insulin secretion. Children's diabetes is also a common target of 1 type diabetes. Most children with 1 type diabetes have a sudden onset, and they can suddenly show obvious polydipsia and polyuria within a few days. The daily drinking and urine volume can reach several liters, and their appetite increases but their weight decreases. The common enuresis and emaciation in young people attract parents' attention. The predisposing factors are often due to infection and improper diet. Infants and young children are often characterized by enuresis, and drinking too much and urinating too much is easily overlooked, and some of them don't come to see a doctor until ketoacidosis occurs. Type 2 diabetes mellitus is more common in middle-aged and elderly people, and its insulin secretion is not low, even high. The clinical manifestation is that the body is not sensitive enough to insulin, that is, Insulin Resistance (IR). Insulin is the only hypoglycemic hormone secreted by human pancreatic B cells. Insulin resistance refers to the decrease of the sensitivity of peripheral tissues in the body to insulin, and the resistance of peripheral tissues such as muscle and fat to insulin to promote the absorption, transformation and utilization of glucose. Clinical observation shows that insulin resistance is common in type 2 diabetes, up to about 90%. Diabetes can lead to infection, heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, renal failure, blindness and gangrene of lower limbs, and become the main cause of death and disability. Hypertonic syndrome of diabetes mellitus is a serious acute complication of diabetes mellitus. At the initial stage, it can be manifested as polyuria, polydipsia, fatigue and unresponsiveness, etc. With the increase of water loss, the disease develops rapidly, and symptoms similar to stroke, such as drowsiness, disorientation, epileptic convulsion, hemiplegia and even coma, appear.
