Breeding environment
Gucheng Lake crabs are produced in the first batch of "national ecological demonstration zones" Gucheng Lake in Gaochun District, Nanjing. Gaochun is densely covered with lakes and ponds, with a water area of 235 square kilometers, accounting for about one-third of the total area of Gaochun. Among them, the west of Gaochun is a water network polder area with rich water resources, including Gucheng Lake and Shijiu Lake, two natural freshwater lakes and Shuiyangjiang, a tributary of the Yangtze River, with excellent water quality.
It is very suitable for aquaculture and is a key production base of freshwater fish in Jiangsu Province. Gucheng Lake, with an area of 3 1 km2, belongs to Gaochun family and is one of the top ten lakes with the best ecological protection in Jiangsu Province.
