Nantong belongs to Jiangsu province, which is "the meeting of rivers and seas, the throat of north and south". It is located at the intersection of T-shaped structure of coastal economic belt and Yangtze River economic belt and at the head of the Yangtze River Delta. It is invited by lights from Shanghai and southern Jiangsu across the river, connected to the vast northern Jiangsu plain in the north and connected to the Eurasian continental bridge by railway.
