Smooth vine; Branchlets are quadrangular. The leaves are opposite, paper-shaped, oval, rarely oval, 6 6- 10/0cm long and 3-6cm wide, with a broad wedge tip at the base, bright on the top, and often tufted hairs in the axils below, which are slightly pink and turn brownish red after drying; Petiole length 8- 12 mm; Stipules 2-parted, lobes subulate, 6- 12 mm long. A single axillary or terminal raceme with a diameter of 2-2.5 cm; The total pedicel is slender, 2-5 cm long, with several bracts in the middle; Spend 5 numbers; Calyx is about 2 mm long, covered with small coarse hairs, and calyx limb lobes are less than 1 mm; Corolla yellow, 6-7 mm long, only the lobes outside are powdery pilose. Capsule is obconical, 7 7- 10/0mm long and1.5-2mm in diameter, and it is puberulent.
The flowering period is from June to July, and the fruiting period is from September to October. Distributed in Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi and Guizhou; Japan also has it. In forest valleys, stream sides or wet shrubs. Hooks and twigs are used medicinally as sedatives.
