The adaptability of dinggui fish is relatively strong, and it can grow in waters with a temperature of 0-40 C. It is suitable for breeding in areas with an annual average temperature of about 20 C. Ding Gui fish are mainly distributed in Hubei, Xinjiang, Jiangsu, Yunnan and other places in China. When raising Ding Gui fish, it is necessary to build ponds based on clay and soil.
Before throwing fry, the pond must be cleaned, and the excessive silt in the pond can be dug up to make it not more than 20 cm. Then soak the tea leaves and quicklime in water, and take the mixed solution and sprinkle it in the pond, so as to eliminate the bacteria and pests in the pond and reduce the chance of the disease of the dinggui fish.
Ding Gui fish is an omnivore, and it needs to be fed twice a day, which can be done at 7-8 am and 6-7 pm. When feeding dinggui fish, it is necessary to provide it with a mixture of fish meal, soybean meal, rapeseed meal, cotton meal and bran to meet its needs.
How big can Ding Gui fish grow?
Ding Gui fish can usually grow to about 2 kg, and its body length is about 12- 15cm. Small zooplankton, such as rotifers and nauplii, can be fed to them in artificial breeding, and mixed feed such as fish meal, cotton meal, bran, soybean meal and rapeseed meal can be fed to them when they are a little older to promote their growth.
Ponds are needed for the culture of turtle, with an area of 3-5 mu and a water depth of about 1.5- 1.8 m. Meanwhile, the water quality should be fresh and the dissolved oxygen should be high. The breeding density of fry is 2,000-3,000 fish per cubic meter, and 30,000-50,000 fish can be put per mu, and the adult fish is 1000- 1500 fish per mu.
Ding Gui fish mainly inhabit still water with many weeds or slow flowing water at the bottom of mud, which is difficult to find in fast-flowing streams. Ding Gui fish will live in deep water in winter, with strong cold tolerance and wide temperature. Generally, it lays eggs in summer and grows rapidly, so it is an omnivorous fish.
