Eileen Chang's "Farewell My Concubine" is not long, with not many characters, uncomplicated scenes, and no intense fighting scenes, but through Eileen Chang's perspective, sense of smell, and sense of hearing in the text, it is as if we have seen again the brutal, intense, and full of horse manure odor and bloody fighting scenes of the Gaixian duel in the fifth year of the end of Qin and the beginning of Han Dynasty.
From 1937, when Eileen Chang wrote this article, to today, it has been more than seventy years since Eileen Chang portrayed the character of Yu Ji, but she is still alive in people's hearts, bringing people a lot of thinking and revelation.
