Xinghai Conservatory of Music, located in Guangzhou, the cultural center of Lingnan, is the only music professional college in South China. Its school-running history can be traced back to "Guangzhou Conservatory of Music", a professional music school founded by China modern music education pioneers Ma Sicong and Chen Hongyu 1932. After the change of Guangzhou Conservatory of Music, Guangzhou Conservatory of Music and Guangzhou Conservatory of Music,1985 65438+February, Guangzhou Conservatory of Music was renamed Xinghai Conservatory of Music in memory of Xian Xinghai, a people's musician.

The college now has ten departments, including composition department, music department, music director department, piano department, vocal music department, folk music department, orchestral department, music education department, social music department and dance department. There are also graduate department, Music Research Institute, Journal Editorial Department, Music Psychology Laboratory, Lingnan Music Development Research Center, Lingnan Music Exhibition Hall, Music Technology Experimental Center, Basic Education Department, Continuing Education Department, Affiliated Secondary Music School and three experimental orchestras. It has formed different levels of technical secondary schools, undergraduate courses and graduate students.

There are 320 in-service teaching and research personnel in our hospital. Among them, there are11person with senior titles; There are 1 18 people with intermediate titles; 77 people received doctoral and master's degrees. In addition, our college has long hired more than 20 well-known experts and scholars at home and abroad such as popova, Alexander Peters, Dan, Li, etc. as visiting professors. And established inter-school exchange and cooperation relations with eight famous foreign conservatories of music and art.

The existing teaching practice area of our college is 334 mu; These include modern concert halls with complete functions and advanced equipment, audio-visual rooms, advanced recording studios, electronic music production centers, various rehearsal halls, academic lecture halls and piano room buildings. Relying on Guangdong's strong economic province, our college is stepping up campus construction by taking advantage of the east wind of Guangdong Provincial Party Committee's proposal to build a "cultural province". From June 5, 2005 to 10, the school environment and conditions will be more optimized after the main body moves into "Guangzhou University Town".

Under the guidance of the Party's reform and opening-up policy and education policy, our college has gradually developed into a professional music education center based in South China, facing the mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Southeast Asian countries. Musicology in our college is a key discipline of provincial musicology in Guangdong Province. Since its establishment, the College has sent more than 6,000 music talents to the society and trained 25 undergraduate graduates. Most of the graduates have become the backbone of various art colleges, research institutions, literary and art groups, cultural media, enterprises and institutions in South China, and some have become musicians and music educators renowned at home and abroad. In recent years, the employment rate of graduates in our college has been in the forefront of universities in Guangdong Province, so it has been widely concerned and praised by all walks of life.
