The size of a pulmonary nodule that requires surgery cannot be generalized. It depends on the nature and location of the pulmonary nodule as well as the patient’s personal situation and wishes. The details are as follows:
1. Benign Nodules can be observed, but malignant nodules must be detected early and operated on early;
2. Pulmonary nodules are simple burr-like nodules. Surgery is not required for <7mm, and regular observation is enough;
3. Pulmonary nodules are >8 mm and have some solid components. In addition to long-term observation, different treatment methods must be adopted according to the changes in pulmonary nodules;
4. Pulmonary nodules are If it is solid, has calcification points, and has relatively regular edges, it does not require surgery and can be observed regardless of size;
5. If it is an old lesion or fibrous nodule that has not changed after long-term observation, no surgical treatment is required;
6. Ground-glass pulmonary nodules >2cm, or mixed-density ground-glass nodules >1.5cm, with solid components >0.5cm, require surgical treatment;
7. The lungs are solid, >2cm or have burrs or lobes, such as typical malignant or infiltrative tumors, and need to be punctured or surgically treated as soon as possible.
