The Yellow River. The Hexi Corridor is located in the northwestern part of China's Gansu Province, north of the Qilian Mountains, south of the Heli and Longshou Mountains, and west of the Wusheng Mountains. Because it is west of the Yellow River so it is called the Hexi Corridor, also known as the Gansu Corridor. The Hexi Corridor has a total length of about 1,000 kilometers from east to west and an area of 89,000 square kilometers. The altitude is about 1,100 to 1,500 meters.
