The yellow duckfish has a long body, a flat belly, and a slightly flattened posterior part of the body. The head is large and flattened, the kiss is rounded, the mouth is large, lower, upper and lower jaws have fine teeth with fluffy, eyes are small. There are four pairs of whiskers, and the maxillary whiskers of most species are particularly long; catfish have three pairs of whiskers in the juvenile stage and two pairs of whiskers in the adult mouth, with prominent, fine, downy interdental teeth in the lower jaw, and the size of the catfish can be as long as 4 kg.
