How to grow cordyceps

The method of planting Cordyceps sinensis is as follows:

1. Cultivation time

If you use natural temperature to propagate Cordyceps sinensis, it is best to do it in March-May every spring. Or plant it in autumn from September to November. If it is propagated in a greenhouse, it can be cultivated all year round, and it can also shorten the growth period and reduce labor costs.

2. Cultivate fungi

Cordyceps sinensis uses the larvae of bat moths as parasites. When planting, large, healthy and obese larvae should be selected. The specific number depends on the number of Cordyceps sinensis cultivated. To determine, you should also spray Cordyceps sinensis fungus on the bat moth larvae to allow the larvae to quickly become infected.

3. Prepare boxes

When planting Cordyceps sinensis, you can use the box cultivation method. Prepare plastic boxes or wooden boxes of appropriate size according to the number of Cordyceps sinensis. Plastic boxes should be used around and at the bottom. Wrap in membrane to avoid moisture loss.

4. Planting in the box

Planting can be carried out after the box is ready. First, lay 5-7 cm thick sand in the wooden box, and then place the infected fungi on the sand. It is also necessary to cover the fungus with sand, with a thickness of 3-5 cm.

After covering with soil, the box should also be covered with a layer of plastic film to ensure good heat preservation and moisture retention. Cordyceps sinensis can grow vigorously only when the environment is suitable. It is best to place the wooden box in a semi-shady, well-ventilated environment and do not expose it to direct light.

5. Maintenance and management

Cordyceps sinensis is a medium-low temperature fungus. It is best to control the temperature between 12-18℃ in the early stage of breeding. Such an environment can promote the growth of Cordyceps sinensis in winter. Mycelium grows faster. After the mycelium grows out, adjust the temperature to between 10-25°C, which can promote the formation of sclerotia and spores.

6. Lighting requirements

Sufficient sunlight is not required during the cultivation of Cordyceps sinensis. During the development period of the stroma, scattered light is suitable to avoid direct sunlight. In summer, You can build an artificial shade shed or place it under the shade of trees for maintenance.
