How to grow shallots?
1, planting time
Onion can be planted in March in spring and September in autumn every year. At this time, the temperature is between 15 and 25 degrees, which is more suitable for plant growth. However, planting onion should not be carried out in rainy season to avoid water accumulation and rot of onion seeds. It is best to do it in sunny days.
2. Planting method
When planting shallots, the seeds with full grains should be soaked in warm water of 40 degrees for sterilization, taken out and dried in the air after half an hour, and then sown in the loose soil. After planting, a decomposed liquid fertilizer should be applied to the shallots to improve the soil fertility and let the onion seeds germinate as soon as possible.
3. Late management
The water demand of shallots is large, so water should be poured into the soil once a week to keep the soil dark. In hot summer, water should be poured once every three days, and the shallots should be ventilated to avoid breeding bacteria and affecting the growth of plants.
