Matters needing attention in sowing stage
Spinach is planted in autumn, and some farmers grow it in summer. At that stage, the temperature was very high and rising. In some areas, the temperature is still above 30 degrees. After sowing, few seedlings were found, and some seedlings withered. When sowing in early autumn, the temperature rises, making seedling emergence difficult. There are also requirements for varieties. Before sowing, seeds need to be soaked and shaded appropriately to improve the emergence rate.
About 25 degrees is suitable for the growth of spinach, and planting is relatively simple. Generally speaking, autumn spinach can be sown from the middle and late August to the end of September, and picked in 10 and1/month. This crop of spinach has a high yield and can be planted with round tip leaves. If spinach is planted later, it will be planted in greenhouse or open air for winter.
Early watering
Some farmers asked whether spinach should be watered before sowing or after sowing. Because of the thin skin of spinach seeds, it is difficult to absorb water compared with other vegetables. In direct seeding of dry seeds, bottom water should be poured before sowing, that is, water should be poured before sowing to increase soil water content. Pouring the soil once in advance can also reduce the soil temperature, the soil temperature does not exceed 30 degrees, and improve the germination rate.
If you sow when the soil is dry, it is also dry seed sowing, and it will not germinate for three or four days. Water it in time to prevent the seeds from germinating due to lack of water. If the soil moisture is poor when wet seeds are directly sown, they can be watered immediately after sowing.
Fill after sowing
Spinach can be sown directly with dry seeds or soaked in water. When sowing, spinach is sown in time after the whole border, and there are also methods of hole sowing. When filling soil, it is not recommended that the soil layer is too thick in autumn. Although it is thick and has good moisture retention, it is difficult to come out. Generally, the fill is less than 2 cm, which can be leveled slightly after light harrowing. When the temperature is high in the afternoon, shade moderately until after emergence and before precipitation, you can cover the dumb film. Sowing deep ground, or caked ground, can sprinkle water to wet the soil, which is beneficial to the emergence of seeds.
Method for rapidly and orderly emergence of spinach seeds
In order to improve the emergence rate of spinach, seed selection is very important. The varieties used should be fast-growing, drought-resistant and heat-resistant. At the same time, in order to prevent spinach from being infected with diseases during its growth, it is necessary to pick out the seeds that are not full before planting and expose them to the sun for 4~6 hours, which can eliminate some germs. Only by using pesticides can the diseases of spinach be effectively reduced.
Spinach does not germinate because there is a layer of gum on the surface. If the seeds can be treated before sowing, the seeds can normally absorb the water in the soil and improve the problem of difficult germination. So before sowing, we must accelerate germination. Firstly, the seeds were soaked in hydrogen peroxide, and spinach was soaked in hydrogen peroxide stock solution and water at a ratio of 1:4. At the same time, stir while pouring, so that the seeds can fully absorb water. The specific soaking time depends on the local temperature. If the temperature is around 25 degrees, it takes about an hour to soak, and if the temperature is around 20 degrees, it takes about two hours to soak.
