The method of paying homage to an old man on the 1st to 7th day of his death is as follows:

1. The first 7th day

The first 7th day of the year is to set up a memorial tablet at home, offer a tree to the owner, and burn incense. Light candles, offer incense and worship, burn cartons, burn incense sticks, and invite monks to chant sutras and worship and repent.

2. February 7th

The sacrifice ceremony is simple. On this day, the family prepares wine and food, offers soup and rice as a memorial, burns paper cups, and invites Taoist priests to chant sutras, etc.

3. Panax notoginseng

Also known as Sanqi, on this night, filial sons hold incense and go to the three-way intersection to call out the name or title of the deceased, or go to the grave to burn incense to take the deceased home. Set up a memorial ceremony.

4. April 7th

The sacrificial ceremony is simple. On this day, the family prepares wine and food, offers soup and rice, and burns paper to hold a memorial ceremony.

5. Wuqi

Among the Qiqi, the Wuqi ritual is particularly important. On this day, the bereaved family holds a memorial ceremony, burns paper, and invites monks and Taoists to set off flames. Relatives and friends also bring paper money and tinfoil ingots (cash is also given) to assist the funeral, and the bereaved family holds a banquet to entertain them. Some paper bundles are used to burn sacrifices to the souls of the dead. The paper bundles have pavilions and houses with tinfoil ingots inside. There are also mountains of gold and silver, and the mountains are decorated with vegetation, birds and animals. During the ceremony, these paper bundles are taken to the tomb and burned.

6. Liuqi

On this day, the son-in-law will cook meat. If there are many sons-in-law, they can be exempted from doing so. If there are no sons-in-law, a younger relative will take his place.

7. Qiqi

It is also called Duanqi, and in some places it is also called Fengqi. On this day, only flames are set off. It is also customary for monks and Taoists to build altars to offer prayers.
