This funny mother is quite experienced, because both of our children were born by caesarean section. Looking back, I feel sorry for myself. The first pregnancy was performed by antegrade caesarean section. Now that I have experience with the second pregnancy, I immediately made an appointment for a caesarean section at 38 weeks. My mother did the confinement for the first baby at my parents’ house, and asked a confinement nanny for the second baby. Today, Dou Ma will talk about her experience in confinement care after caesarean section;
Confinement and recovery precautions after caesarean section
1. Do not drink water after returning to the ward after caesarean section. If If you are thirsty, ask your family members to dip a cotton swab in water to moisten your lower lip to relieve the symptoms first, and then drink a small amount after passing gas. Also, lie flat on the bed first, without sleeping on a pillow. During the hospitalization, the nurse will come to disinfect the perineum and let the family keep the mattress dry and clean.
2. You must wait until you have passed gas before eating. The food should be nutritious and easy to digest. Liquid food should be the main way to replenish water. Don't overdo it at first. Funny mom, I just had flatulence about 6 hours after the operation. Because I had no milk at first, I asked my family to stew fish maw and eat it, and my confinement sister didn’t remind me not to eat it. As a result, my breasts became swollen and painful, and I almost doubted my life.
3. In order to avoid postpartum intestinal adhesion and thrombosis, new mothers should move as early as possible. On the night of the operation, Dou Ma rocked up the bed in the ward, sat upright, and stuffed as many pillows and quilts as possible behind her back. It would be much more comfortable. The next day, as soon as the urinary catheter was removed, she got out of bed and moved along the edge of the bed! Be sure not to get out of bed because of fear of pain, and remove the urinary catheter as soon as possible, because if the time is too long, it will be more difficult to urinate on your own;
4. There is more uterine bleeding after caesarean section, so pay attention to vaginal bleeding. If you find If your menstrual flow exceeds, please notify your doctor immediately. There are also symptoms such as coughing, nausea, and vomiting after surgery due to the anesthesia. At this time, pressure should be applied on both sides of the wound to prevent dehiscence.
5. Let the baby suck the breast as early as possible. Even if there is no milk at first, don’t worry. Let the baby suck every day, and it will come soon. The first milk that comes out of breast milk is called "colostrum". It has very high nutritional content, so it must be given to the baby. Don't be like a mother who teases you by eating food that causes breastmilk at the beginning, because the baby has a very small appetite at the beginning and can't take much milk at all. So after eating food that causes breastmilk, you can imagine that the pain of breast milk engorgement is not as painful as giving birth to a baby. light. When breast milk increases, ask family members to massage the breasts. Once the breast glands are clear, the pain will not be so great. You can also use a breast pump to suck out the excess milk. Avoid, avoid, bloody lessons!
6. Before leaving the hospital and going home, try to buy a special abdominal plastic belt for caesarean section and wrap the abdomen. This can protect the patient from getting in and out of the car on the way home and from the pulling of the wound that may cause secondary cracking when walking. Remember to dress warmly and without drafts, and wear a hat on your head to prevent catching cold.
7. After returning home, keep your body clean and clean your mouth with a soft toothbrush every day. Every day, ask the confinement nurse to soak the towel in warm water, wring it out and wipe the body. Do not rub the wound. Change bed sheets promptly. Keep your body and perineum dry and hygienic.
8. Ensure adequate sleep and hold the child as little or as little as possible to avoid back pain in the future. When feeding, lie on one side and let the confinement nurse carry her to the other side to continue feeding! Get out of bed and walk around more, which will help restore physical strength and help uterine contractions and discharge of lochia. But don’t stand for long periods of time. Enough is enough.
9. In terms of diet, it should be light and nutritious. Don't overeat big fish and meat, and don't eat fat foods such as chicken and wine half a month before caesarean section. Not conducive to wound recovery. This will prevent you from having difficulty getting back in shape later. You can eat a small amount of fruit. Before eating, heat it in boiling water, or squeeze it into juice and heat it before drinking.
The concept of the older generation is that you cannot move around, take a bath, touch the water, or brush your teeth during confinement. You can't eat fruits or food that has flavor. There are various no-nos. We can learn from experience but we should not follow them completely blindly. Scientific confinement is more helpful for getting back in shape in the future!
