It also contains triglycerides, diglycerides, monoglycerides and other glycerides and free fatty acids (palmitic acid is about 50%), as well as squalene, ferulic acid, sterols, higher fatty alcohols, hydrocarbons, phospholipids, lipoproteins, vitamin B 16, B 1, and E groups.
It also contains an anti-tumor substance (23.6 g/kg), which may be a polysaccharide compound (mainly pentasaccharide and hexasaccharide), soluble in water and insoluble in general organic solvents.
In addition, it contains furfuryl glycoside, which is the glucoside of furfuryl.
pharmacological action
Oryzanol can act on the hypothalamus and the limbic system of the brain. Oral administration of 10 ~ 30mg, three times a day or subcutaneous or intramuscular injection of10mg can improve the dysfunction of autonomic nerves. Experiments show that it can promote the growth of rats and increase the content of glycogen in liver. For ovariectomized rats, subcutaneous injection can cause estrous changes, but oral administration is ineffective; It can also cause such changes in mice, sheep and cattle. With the increase of dose, the effect is not enhanced. It has no vitamin E-like effect on rats.
An anticancer substance extracted from rice stalks, husks or bran is effective for transplanted mouse Ehrlich ascites cancer and sarcoma-180.
After some Penicillium is parasitized on brown rice (called yellow rice in Japanese), it can produce toxic substances, that is, chlorine-containing peptides and yellow toxins. Feeding animals (rats or rabbits) in large quantities can cause acute liver damage and death, and long-term small amounts can cause animal cirrhosis.
