The temperature is suitable and the sand is kept moist.
Domestic Brazilian female turtles will usually lay eggs after more than ten years of breeding. If you want to artificially hatch baby turtles, a male turtle must be inseminated, so that the female turtle can hatch out the baby turtles after laying eggs.
Put the eggs into a breathable and leaky wooden box filled with warm sand. If the sand is thick, check it once every 2-3 days. If the sand is dry, sprinkle water to keep the sand moist. At temperatures of 24-35°C, it usually takes 50-70 days for a hatchling to hatch out of its shell. The mating period for Brazilian turtles is generally from the end of May to August, the egg-laying period is from June to September, and the peak egg-laying period is around the summer solstice. Each turtle year lays about 40 eggs, up to 90 eggs.
