Source Polygala glomerata Lour. [P. chinensis L.], the whole plant is used as medicine. It can be excavated in all seasons or in summer and autumn, washed and dried, or used fresh.

The nature and flavor are pungent, slightly sweet and flat.

Functions: Clearing away heat and detoxifying, eliminating phlegm and relieving cough, promoting blood circulation and dispersing blood stasis. It is used for cough, chest pain, pharyngitis, bronchitis, tuberculosis, whooping cough, hepatitis, sequelae of polio; external use to treat carbuncles, boils, bruises, and snake bites.

Usage and dosage: 3 to 6 qian; appropriate amount for external use, mash the fresh product and apply to the affected area.
