Clinically used in cervical spondylosis or lumbar intervertebral disc herniation caused by limb numbness, pain, often used together with turmeric, to strengthen its role in blood circulation. The Yunnan chick's blood vine is the dried vine stem of Magnoliaceae. Harvested in the fall, remove the branches and leaves, sliced and dried in the sun.

The product is round, oval or irregular oblique slices, 1.8~6.5cm in diameter, the surface is gray-brown, the cork skin peeling off the dark reddish-purple, the cork skin is thicker, the thicker one has most of the fissures, cracked; the thin one has longitudinal grooves, and is often accompanied by moss and lichen.
