silver carp seedlings can hatch once a year. The breeding season of silver carp is from April to July. The mature age is generally 4 years old, and the minimum is 3 years old. The male fish matures one year earlier than the female fish. From mid-April to July, the water temperature is above 18℃, and the peak period is May-June. The relative fecundity of a 5 kg female fish is about 4,-5, eggs/kg body weight, and the spawning period is similar to that of grass carp, with an absolute fecundity of 2,-25, eggs. Mainly spawn in the flood season of the main stream of rivers. Silver carp begin to gather around April 15th every year, and migrate to spawning grounds to start natural reproduction. Adult fish will feed in lakes and reservoirs with abundant bait after spawning.
