Morphological features
Stonecrop family perennial herbs. The underground part of the bulb is fat like onion, ovate to broadly ovoid-globose, covered with brownish-brown pericarp. Leaves narrowly strap-shaped, biseriate. Classification of Narcissus
There are more than 800 species of this genus in the world***, of which more than 10 species have high ornamental value. Narcissus was originally distributed in Central Europe, the Mediterranean coast and North Africa, and the Chinese Narcissus is a variety of Narcissus multiflora, with the species name: Narcissus tazetta var. chinensis Roem.
Chinese Narcissus was cultivated in China more than 1,300 years ago during the Tang Dynasty, and it is y favored by the people, and it is one of the top ten most famous flowers in China. There are two main strains of Chinese daffodils:
(1) monopetalous type: single-petal flowers, white, perianth 6-lobed, there is a golden yellow ring-shaped corona in the center, so it is known as "marigold Yintai," also known as the "wine glass daffodil"; if the corona is white, flowers, the leaf tip of the thin, it is known as the "silver marigold Yutai".
(2) heavy petal type: flower heavy petal, white, perianth 12 cracks, rolled into a cluster, known as "hundred leaves Narcissus" or "Yu Linglong", the flower shape is not as beautiful as a single petal, the aroma is also poor, is a variant of Narcissus.
Additionally, according to the place of origin is divided into Zhangzhou Narcissus and Chongming Narcissus. Often referred to as Narcissus often refers to Zhangzhou Narcissus, Chongming Narcissus and Zhangzhou Narcissus difference: dryland cultivation, generally not "castration" surgery, the bulb is smaller and denser, fewer flowers per ball, generally only 1-2 scapes.
