I carefully read the winning works of the first Mao Dun Literature Award with my heart. Literary and artistic works, especially plays and novels, are mainly used to portray and shape characters. Shaping typical characters is the ultimate goal and main content of novels, and narrative objects are all used to shape characters. Creating characters is the foundation of novel creation! All the contents and stories of the novel revolve around portraying characters. From this point of view, Mr. Gu Hua's portrayal and description of the characters' thoughts, personalities, inner world and images are very successful, and his grasp of the inner world of the characters is quite accurate, profound and insightful.

Secondly, reading this novel made me see an idyllic Shen Congwen again. The writing, language, style and scenery description of his works are so beautiful! Writers in Sanxiang can always make a subtle pastoral description of the local customs and secular pictures with southern border areas, giving people a beautiful enjoyment, as the author said in his preface, "sing a severe rural pastoral." The mountains and rivers, customs, secular scenes and southern scenery of the works are vividly on the paper.

Thirdly, his vivid, humorous, witty, vivid, rich and local language and country slang are just right and amazing! His language style and touching words are worth learning.

Fourth, the ideological content of this book is worth pondering and enlightening me. The author's thoughts on life, humanity and social development are shocking and shocking!
