Huai'an is in Jiangsu Province.
Huai'an, known as Huaiyin in ancient times, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Jiangsu Province, located in the north-central part of Jiangsu Province and the eastern part of the Jianghuai Plain. Located in the Yangtze River Delta region, is an important center of the northern Jiangsu Province, the northern Yangtze River Delta modern center city, Nanjing metropolitan circle member cities, the Huaihe River ecological economic zone first mentioned the first city, located in the ancient Huaihe River and Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal intersection, in the north-south demarcation line in China, "the Qinling-Huaihe River," on the line.
Huaian has a history of more than 2,200 years as a city. During the Qin Dynasty, Huaiyin County was established in Sishui County, which is located in the present-day Matou Town of Huaiyin. There are ruins of "Qingliangang Culture" in the city. The city was once a transportation hub and a major salt transportation hub, with the Governor's Office of Transportation and the Governor's Office of Jiangnan River Road. Historically, it was known as one of the "Four Great Cities" along the canal with Suzhou, Hangzhou and Yangzhou, and "the place where the southern boats and northern horses met".
