The overall planning and design scheme of Huaxi Campus was designed by Academician He Jingtang of South China University of Technology. The campus covers an area of 1.700 mu, and plans to enroll 1.000 students in the near future, with a total construction area of 440,000 square meters. Chongqing University of Technology, referred to as "Heavy Industry", is located in Chongqing, a municipality directly under the Central Government. It is a new type of engineering research and practice project selected by China Ordnance Collaborative Innovation Alliance, a municipal undergraduate college jointly established by the central and local governments, a key construction college in Chongqing, a national college student innovation and entrepreneurship training program, a national graduate employment typical experience college, the first batch of scientific and technological achievements transformation and technology transfer bases in colleges and universities, and the first batch of projects selected by the Ministry of Education.
