It is called plow grass, also known as Cordyleaf cordifolia, Jade Ruyi, Purple-flowered groundweed, etc. It is a perennial herb. The main root is short, thick and white. The leaves are clustered, long ovate to triangular ovate, distributed in the southwest and Jiangsu, Anhui, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hunan and other places, growing in forest edges, open grasslands under the forest, mountain grasses, and beside valleys. It is a traditional Chinese medicine with very high medicinal value.

Functions and Indications: Clearing heat and detoxifying, removing blood stasis and draining pus, cooling the blood and liver. Commonly used for treating carbuncle, mastitis, hemorrhage from intestinal carbuncle, suppurative osteomyelitis, jaundice, red and swollen eyes, scrofula, traumatic bleeding, and snakebite.

Parts used as medicine: the whole plant. Bitter, slightly pungent, cold in nature. Returns to the spleen meridian. During the fruit maturity period from April to May, harvest the whole plant, remove the soil, and use it fresh or sun-dried.

Relevant compatibility: 1. Treatment of purulent osteomyelitis: equal amounts of fresh Pleurotus vulgaris and Tridentium tridentata (fresh). Crush and apply externally. ("Compilation of National Chinese Herbal Medicines") 2. Treat traumatic bleeding: appropriate amounts of Plowwort and Wood Sorrel. Crush and apply externally to the affected area. ("Records of Natural Medicines in Bashan, Qinling Mountains").

Attached prescription: ① Treatment of acne: Beat the root of acne grass, add sugar or red pepper and mix it to the affected area; and use face droplets around it as a surround. ② To treat carbuncles, boils, and unknown swollen poisons: equal amounts of fresh pomegranate and fresh wild chrysanthemum leaves. Mash the same and apply it to the affected area; or use the whole plant of fresh Pleurotus striata, add a little sugar, pound it and apply it, and change it once a day. At the same time, make the juice into a wine glass and take it internally.

③Treatment of carbuncles, boils, scrofula, breast carbuncles, and finger boils: fresh Pomegranate grass is mashed and applied; or dried and ground into powder, mixed with egg white for application. Change once or twice a day. ④Treatment of boils: Grind the plow grass into powder, make rice paste into pills, as big as sycamore seeds, take nine pills at a time with boiling water.
