Zucchini is also known as wild rice squash , white squash, horn gourd .

Zucchini belongs to the annual trailing herbaceous plants, originated in the southern region of North America, and is now common in many parts of our country. There are also many varieties of zucchini, common varieties of long-trailing zucchini, seedless zucchini, leafy zucchini, green zucchini, etc., are very common.

Growth habit

The optimal temperature during the growing period is 20-25 ℃, below 15 ℃ growth is slow, below 8 ℃ to stop growing. 30 ℃ above the growth of slow and very susceptible to disease. Seed germination temperature for 25-30 ℃, 13 ℃ can germinate, but very slow; 30-35 ℃ germination fastest, but easy to cause the growth. Flowering and fruiting period requires higher temperatures, generally keep 22-25 ℃ best. The minimum temperature for root growth is 6℃, and the minimum temperature for root hair occurrence is 12℃. Night temperature 8-10 ℃ when fertilized fruit can develop normally.

Light intensity requirements of moderate, more tolerant of low light, but insufficient light is easy to cause growth. Photoperiod is a short sunlight plants, long sunlight conditions are conducive to the growth of stems and leaves, short sunlight conditions earlier melon period. Zucchini like wet, intolerant of drought, high temperature and drought conditions are prone to virus disease; but high temperature and high humidity is also easy to cause powdery mildew. The soil requirements are not strict, sandy soil, loamy soil, clay soil can be cultivated, deep loamy soil easy to get high yield.
