Many varieties have this characteristic. Let’s introduce a few rare ones
Palace Goose Head Red
Belongs to the egg-type goose head type and is a traditional goldfish species. It was formerly known as "red hat fish" in Beijing. It once disappeared from the market and was on the verge of being lost. The goose-headed goldfish is characterized by dense scales on its back, especially its white body color, which shines silver under the sunlight. Although the bright red head tumors are not as developed as those of tiger head goldfish, they are denser and appear more upright. There are very few breeders of this species now and it is rarely seen on the market. As a result, some people mistakenly mistake the red egg head or the crane crown red (wenzhong) with a missing dorsal fin for the palace goose head red.
Red-topped tiger head
Tiger head is also called lion head in Wuhan and longevity star in Fujian. The red-topped tiger head was once mistaken for "goose head red". In fact, Goose Head belongs to another strain (see previous article). The whole body of the red-capped tiger's head is silver-white, except for the head tumor in the middle of its head, which is bright red. Like the crane-crested red, the red-crested tiger's head carries the beautiful meaning of "good fortune (red) comes at the head". Moreover, the fish's fins are short and the body is thick. It swims like a toddler, making it even cuter. The main producing areas of red-topped tiger heads are Suzhou, Tianjin and Fuzhou. The red-topped tiger heads produced in Suzhou are especially the best, with square heads and thick backs. According to the distribution of red head tumors on the top of the head, it can also be subdivided into red-headed tiger heads (all head tumors are red) and red-headed tiger heads.
Hedinghong
Hedinghong belongs to the Wen species of goldfish. It is similar in size to crucian carp, slightly shorter and wider than dragon eyes, and has well-developed fins. Its body is beautiful and clean, and its movements are agile, giving people a fresh and lively feeling. Its silver-white scales are shining all over its body. It has a red sarcoma on its head and a long tail fin. When it swims, it dances like a white crane, which is very elegant. Sarcomas that are square, thick, and bright red in color are the most valuable, followed by irregular ones such as yellow and white.
