2. If the food business license has expired and is not handled in time within the renewal period, then this license is equivalent to being invalid, and the operator needs to apply for a new food business license.

The renewal of the food business license is as follows:

1. Apply for renewal at the window where the food business license was originally handled, and submit relevant materials: the original and photocopy of the Food Business License; Application for extension of food business license; Business license; Qualification certificate of the entrusted agent;

2. The staff will review the materials and correct those that do not meet the requirements;

Where the applicant entrusts others to apply for a license, the entrusted agent shall submit the power of attorney and the identity certificate of the entrusted agent or designated representative. Applicants are required to submit the above materials to the local market supervision administration.

To sum up, the food business license expires and needs to be renewed in time. If it is not reissued for a long time after the expiration, the certificate will be invalid.

Article 29 of the Measures for the Administration of Food Business License

Where a food business operator needs to extend the validity period of a legally obtained food business license, it shall apply to the original food and drug supervision and administration department 30 working days before the expiration of the validity period of the food business license.
