Round glutinous rice is used to wrap zongzi. There are two kinds of glutinous rice, one is long glutinous rice, which is long and thin, white and opaque, and has strong viscosity. Another round glutinous rice belongs to japonica glutinous rice, which is round and short in shape, white and opaque, sweet and greasy in taste, and slightly less sticky than long glutinous rice. Suitable for making zongzi, fermented rice, glutinous rice, etc.

To make zongzi, the preparation materials: bacon100g, purple rice 250g, round glutinous rice150g, salt, peanuts and zongzi leaves.

1. Wash purple rice and glutinous rice separately for later use.

2. Wash and dice the bacon for later use.

3. Wash the palm leaves for later use.

4. Mix purple rice, glutinous rice and peanuts with a little salt.

5. Roll the leaves into rolls.

6. Add a proper amount of glutinous rice, slightly compact it, and wrap it with a little bacon.

7. Cover with palm leaves.

8. Pack them in turn.

9. Don't add water to the wrapped zongzi. Boil it on high fire and simmer for 2 hours.
