Wuchang fish is a specialty of Liangzi Lake in Hubei Province. Wuchang fish, the scientific name of Megalobrama amblycephala, also known as Fankouyu, atrophic amblysema. Meat is sweet and has always been delicious on the table. During the period of 1955, the Institute of Hydrobiology of Chinese Academy of Sciences organized a team of more than 20 people to conduct research in Liangzi Lake for one and a half years. Ezhou is the origin of Wuchang fish, known as the "city of 100 lakes" and "land of plenty". Ezhou is famous for its lake and prospers with water. Ezhou is rich in food and aquatic products and has a long history, forming many traditional dishes and snacks with unique local flavor in eastern Hubei.
