Heishui County is a county under the jurisdiction of Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan Province. Its geographical coordinates are 102°35′~103°30′ east longitude and 31°35′~32°38′ north latitude. It is located in the northwest of Sichuan Province. It is located in the central part of Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, at the upper reaches of the Minjiang River at the northern end of the middle section of the Hengduan Mountains on the southeastern edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, at the intersection of the Minshan Mountains and the Qionglai Mountains.
