Places to visit in Suzhou:
1. Humble Administrator’s Garden, No. 178 Northeast Street, Gusu District, Suzhou City
The layout of Humble Administrator’s Garden adopts separated spaces and the use of natural , contrasting the techniques of borrowing scenery, absorbing traditional painting art, and creating landscapes according to the location, with undulating mountain paths and water corridors, ancient trees blocking the sun, and mountain light and water shadows, which have the typical characteristics of Jiangnan gardens. The Humble Administrator's Garden is the largest and most famous garden in Suzhou. The whole garden is centered on water, surrounded by well-proportioned rockeries and exquisite courtyard buildings, with luxuriant flowers and trees. It is indeed a royal garden, with rockeries, strange rocks, small bridges, flowing water, and screens all outstanding!
2. No. 8, Huqiu Mountain Gate, Gusu District, Suzhou City, Huqiu Mountain Scenic Area
The landmarks of the scenic area are the famous ancient leaning tower and the stone tower of Yunyan Temple. Not very high. Tiger Hill is the most representative and historical attraction in Suzhou. You can learn about the stories of the Spring and Autumn Period here, and the sloping Yunyan Temple Tower is the landmark. Huqiu Mountain Scenic Area has a long history of more than 2,500 years. It is known as "the first scenic spot in Wuzhong" and "the first mountain in Wuzhong". Su Dongpo, the great poet of the Song Dynasty, wrote "I have said that if you don't visit Huqiu in Gusu, you won't visit Lu." Qiu is the eternal saying of "two debts." It has been rated as one of the first batch of top ten civilized scenic tourist area demonstration sites in the country, a national AAAAA tourist attraction, and a national civilized unit.
3. Hanshan Temple, No. 24, Hanshan Temple Lane, Gusu District, Suzhou City
Hanshan Temple belongs to the Linji Sect of Zen. During the Zhenguan period of the Tang Dynasty, two eminent monks, Hanshan and Xiqian, founded Hanshan Temple. In more than 1,000 years, Hanshan Temple was destroyed by fire five times (some say it was seven times). The last time it was rebuilt was during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty. Historically, Hanshan Temple was one of the top ten famous temples in China. There are many historical sites in the temple, including the stone inscriptions of Zhang Jishi, the stone inscriptions found by Hanshan and Hanshan, and fragments of inscriptions written by Wen Zhengming and Tang Yin.
