Shimen Reservoir is beautiful and magnificent, and it is the third generation water conservancy project in Baogu after He Shan Dam and Bao Hui Canal. Shimen Reservoir, built in the late 1960s, was the first and highest reinforced concrete hyperbolic arch dam in China at that time. The dam is 88 meters high, with an arc length of 260 meters and a storage capacity of10.98 billion cubic meters. It is a large-scale (2) reservoir integrating farmland irrigation, flood control, power generation and aquaculture. Since the completion of Shimen Reservoir in 1975, the people of Huize Hanzhong have played a very important role in the social stability and economic development of Hanzhong, and have been affectionately called "Life Library" and "Mother Library" by the people of Hanzhong.
