Tomb-Sweeping Day, what traditional snacks are there in your hometown?
As a foodie, this question must of course be asked.

My hometown is one of the famous hometown of overseas Chinese: Heshan.

The main cuisines here are Guangfu cuisine and Hakka cuisine, so Qingming's special snacks also have the characteristics of two cuisines.

Then I'll talk about the Qingming special snacks in my hometown, in the order I like.

Guangfucai

First of all, sweet potato horn

(ps: Don't dislike my ugly picture. I've been looking for this sweet potato corner for a long time. )

Before and after Tomb-Sweeping Day, every family here would make this sweet potato horn to worship their ancestors.

Exercise:

Ingredients: sweet potato, peanut oil, fried peanuts, sugar.

1. Steam a large pot of sweet potato, peel it, pour it into a plate and knead it into a cake.

2. Then mix with glutinous rice flour and knead it into round blocks.

3. Wrap in peanuts and sugar.

4. Put it in the oil pan and fry until golden.

Taste: the outside is burnt and the inside is tender. After frying, the sugar melts in it. Sweet potato is naturally fresh and sweet with the sweetness of white sugar and crispy peanuts, which is full of layers. Oh, no, I want to leave my saliva.

Second, chicken excrement rattan cake

As the name implies, it is made of a plant called Celastrus orbiculatus. You must want to ask if it tastes as bad as stinky tofu. In fact, on the contrary, its fragrance is not "smelly".

Chicken manure vines look like this ~

It is abundant in March and April of the lunar calendar and can be picked all year round. It belongs to the vine. They are born in streams, rivers, roadsides, forests and shrubs, and often climb on other plants or rocks.

Cite Compendium of Materia Medica:

Paederia japonica, the name of traditional Chinese medicine. It is the whole grass of the Rubiaceae plant Paederia scandens, which is harvested and dried in summer. Its taste is sweet, slightly bitter, and its nature is flat. Has the effects of expelling pathogenic wind, promoting diuresis, relieving pain and toxic materials, promoting digestion, resolving food stagnation, promoting blood circulation and reducing swelling.

In short, this is a good thing ~

Ingredients: a large bundle of chicken manure, glutinous rice flour and yellow sugar.

1. Paederia asiatica add water to boil and drain the juice for later use.

2. Mix the juice with glutinous rice flour, add yellow sugar and stir well.

3. Pour the mixed liquid into the mold.

4. Put it in the steamer and wait 10- 15 minutes.

Taste: delicious and fragrant.

Hakka cuisine

Third, Ai Ai (Qingming Fruit)

It is a long-standing custom of Hakkas to mourn in Tomb-Sweeping Day.

Ingredients: Folium Artemisiae Argyi, glutinous rice flour, fried peanuts and sugar.

The method is the same as the sweet potato horn, except that the last step is steaming.

Taste: The fragrant wormwood is combined with sweet glutinous rice, so you can have a soft and sweet taste.
