Bhutan's cuisine is famous for its peppers and cheese. However, as a Bhutanese, my resistance to pepper is lower than other Bhutanese, but I like cheese very much.
Kewa Datshi is my favorite dish. Kewa is the local name for potatoes, and Datshi is the local name for cheese.
Kewa datshi is the simplest and quickest curry that any family can cook, and it is also the most delicious curry (as far as I know).
what you need is kewa (potato), a spoonful of oil, some peppers, tomatoes, onions, water (according to the amount of soup you want) and cheese (the most important ingredient).
all you need to do is peel potatoes, slice them into a round shape, put them in a pot with water, heat them until the potatoes are more than half cooked, add a spoonful of oil, pepper, tomato, onion and salt, cook them until the potatoes are completely cooked, add cheese and close the lid and still heat them. When the cheese is cooked (a few minutes later), your kewa datshi is ready.
I like bathing, too. Bathtub is the local name for noodles, but it is made of flour. Again, the preparation of the bathtub is very simple.
all you need to do is prepare the dough, roll it up, cut it into long pieces, thick pieces or short pieces (whichever you like), cook it in water, and add a little salt and pepper if you like.
whenever I have a bad appetite, I need two bowls of bathtubs. * Laugh *
I like ezay, too. Ezay is like kimchi or salad in your context, but the only difference is that our Ezay only contains peppers, unlike kimchi or salad.
interestingly, we can eat at least two plates of rice with a spoonful of ezay.
by the way, this is the cheese I mentioned earlier. There are many countries all over the world that like to eat peppers, but they are generally used for cooking. But in Bhutan, people's love for peppers is not just as simple as peppers. Every household basks in peppers, and they even make peppers as snacks.
what's your favorite Bhutanese dish? What are they?
