Among the many ancient towns around Chengdu, Sichuan, Tangchang Ancient Town, located at the intersection of Pixian, Dujiangyan and Pengzhou, has a history of 1300 years, which is not outstanding. However, its lively and rich street life attracted my visit.

Different from other ancient towns, Tangchang ancient town is more like a town with ancient charm and modern atmosphere. Here, the noise of tourists is replaced by the quiet and leisurely living atmosphere in the alley. The ancient buildings with a long history, the former residences of celebrities with blue bricks and tiles, and the unique folk houses in western Sichuan are scattered in several Gu Xiang, and these Gu Xiang are surrounded by modern markets and walk here as if they are constantly shuttling through the ages.

According to records, Tangchang Town was called Chongning County in ancient times. Founded in the second year of Tang Yifeng (AD 677), it was originally named Tangchang County, which means the prosperity of the Tang Dynasty. In the first year of Song Chongning (A.D. 1 102), Tangchang was renamed as Chongning County. After liberation, the county was transferred to Pixian.

Historically, Tangchang has been an important market town in western Sichuan since the Tang Dynasty, where merchants are as rich as a cloud. In the Ming and Qing dynasties, temples flourished, and there were many palaces and temples, resulting in the grand occasion of "splendid Tang Chang's thousand-year history, seven palaces and eight temples dreaming". For thousands of years, it has a rich history and a long culture, and Zhong Ling is a famous hometown of humanities in western Sichuan. But now, only the most representative Confucius Temple is left in the first seven palaces and eight temples. This magnificent and quaint wooden structure, which was built in the Song Dynasty and renovated during the reign of Emperor Qianlong and Emperor Guangxu, not only shows a long and lasting historical atmosphere, but also embodies a strong local cultural atmosphere.

Da Chun Lane in drizzle is simple and elegant, surrounded by green trees, and rain drops from blue roof tiles. The damp corners are covered with lush moss, and the winding alleys are empty. In the process of walking, I can't help but think of Dai Wangshu's Rain Lane, but there is no girl who is sad with an oil-paper umbrella. Only in the autumn rain, she dances with lonely leaves.

Today's Tang Chang, the noise of the past has gradually faded away, and with the passage of time, it has gradually become silent in the depths of history. But here, one brick and one tile, one street and one lane, one house and one hospital are still witnessing the glory and changes of the times.
