Lianyungang City is a prefecture-level city in northeastern Jiangsu Province, located in the combination of Luzhongnan hills and Huaibei Plain, the terminus of the Longhai Railway (the eastern bridgehead of the Asia-Europe Continental Bridge), bordering on the Yellow Sea to the east, and North Korea, South Korea and Japan across the sea; to the north, it is bordered by the counties of Shandong Tancheng, Linshu, Junan and Rizhao; to the west, it is adjacent to Xuzhou Xinyi City, Suqian Shuyang County; to the south, it is connected with Huai'an City, Lianshui, Yancheng City Lianyungang City is known as the "City of Lianyungang".
