1, natural drying method
It takes about 7 to 10 days to completely dry the collected flowers, which is the most commonly used method in rural areas. Its advantages are simplicity, convenience and floral fragrance. The disadvantage is that the petals are easy to fall off in the sun-drying process, and the aroma is lost. After sun-drying, it is loose and cannot shrink into a ball. The color of flowers can't be guaranteed, and it is easy to breed insects in later storage, and flowers will also go bad during transportation.
2. Dry in the shade
This is the method stipulated in the medical book, that is, spread the flowers evenly in a dry and ventilated place, such as an empty room upstairs, and let it dry naturally. This process takes about 10 to 20 days to completely dry. The advantage is that the color, shape and smell of flowers are good. The disadvantage is that the process of drying thousands of flowers is too long, and it is easy to breed insects in the later storage, and flowers will be broken during transportation.
3. Steam first and then dry.
Steam the flowers/kloc-0.5 to 20 minutes, then spread them evenly on the clean concrete floor, let the wind blow, let the sun shine and dry them naturally. Its advantages are high drying speed, no insects after high-temperature sterilization and insect killing, natural shrinkage of flowers after steaming and no damage during transportation. The disadvantage is that the color and shape of flowers will change greatly, and the unique fragrance of wild chrysanthemum will be unnatural and tend to the taste of Chinese herbal medicine.
