Penicillin production mainly uses specific Penicillium or molds that produce Huang Qing. These microorganisms need specific culture conditions, including temperature, humidity, pH, nutrients and so on, in order to realize the effective synthesis of penicillin.
Corn syrup contains a variety of amino acids and phenylethylamine, which is an ideal precursor for the synthesis of penicillin. Among them, phenylethylamine can directly participate in the synthesis of penicillin. At the same time, corn syrup also contains a substance called phytate, which plays an important role in the synthesis of penicillin.
In the process of penicillin fermentation, the precipitate of corn syrup can be used instead of corn syrup. This sediment contains higher phytic acid and lower nitrogen, and its effect as penicillin culture medium is better than that of corn steep liquor.
