Ta 'er Temple was founded in A.D. 1379. It has a history of more than 600 years and covers an area of more than 600 mu. Temple buildings are distributed in a ditch and two slopes of Lianhua Mountain, and the halls are scattered, reflecting each other and magnificent. Located in the center of the temple, Dajinwa Hall is the main building of the temple, with green walls and golden tiles. It is connected with Xiaojinwa Hall (the Hall of Protecting the Dharma), Dajingtang, Maitreya Hall, Sakyamuni Hall, Yijing Hall, Manjusri Bodhisattva Hall, Hall of Praying for the New Year (Flower Hall), Dalalang Palace (Auspicious Hall) and four major Confucian Classrooms (Xianzong Confucian Classrooms and Mijia Temple). The Buddha statues in the temple are vivid and beautiful, transcendent and sacred. Vivid butter sculpture, colorful murals and colorful pile embroidery are known as the "three wonders of Ta 'er Temple art". There are many Buddhist classics and academic monographs on history, literature, philosophy, medicine and legislation in the temple. The annual Buddhist activity "Four Dharmas" is even more lively and full of tourists.
Ta 'er Temple is located at the foot of Lianhua Mountain in Lushaoer Town, Huangzhong County. It is the center of Buddhism in Qinghai Province and the northwest of China, the holy land of the Yellow Sect, and one of the six temples of the Yellow Sect in China-the Gelug Sect of Lamaism. The whole temple is surrounded by mountains, winding and undulating, strewn at random, magnificent, towering old trees and pagodas, and the scenery is magnificent and extraordinary. The butter sculpture of Ta 'er Temple is also vivid and famous.
