The story of climbing high

According to legend, in the Eastern Han Dynasty, there was a man named Huan Jing in runan county. Because of the plague, a great plague suddenly occurred in the place where he lived, and Huanjing's parents died of illness, so he went to Southeast Mountain to learn from his teacher. The fairy Fei Changfang gave Huanjing a dragon sword to subdue the demon. Huan Jing gets up early and goes to bed late, wears a Dai Yue, studies hard and practices hard.

One day, Fei Changfang said, "On September 9th, the plague will come again. Go back and kill pests. " And gave him a bag of dogwood leaves and a bottle of chrysanthemum wine, so that the elders in their hometown could climb high to avoid disaster. So Hengjing bid farewell to his master and returned to his hometown.

On September 9, he led his wife, children, villagers and elders to a nearby mountain. Take the dogwood leaves with you, but the plague demon is afraid to go near them. Then pour out the chrysanthemum wine, and everyone took a sip to avoid catching the plague. He fought the plague demon and finally killed it. People on both sides of the Ruhe River still have the custom of climbing mountains to avoid disaster and drinking dogwood on September 9, and the story of Huan Jing stabbing athel Loren with a sword has been passed down to this day.

Chongyang | Legend of the God of Dyed Cloth Cylinder

Legend has it that there is a young couple with a hard life. One day, two beggars came, and the couple gave them the yellow-faced cage cakes they wanted to eat. The beggar sang happily while eating: "I have a grass, which is dyed as blue as a treasure, badly dressed and not bad in color." Sprinkle a lot of grass while walking.

When winter goes and spring comes, beggars sow grass everywhere. The couple mowed the grass and soaked it in two vats. The next day, the water in the vat turned blue, but it was not dyed.

One night, two beggars from last year came again. The husband and wife arranged for them to sleep in a big barrel, covered with corn bran and straw, and made pillows with a bag of lime powder under the grass. Who knows, the two came in and took out the dining tables and drank happily. In the middle of the night, they sexually assaulted, vomited all the dining table into the jar, and slipped the lime bag into the jar as a pillow. In the morning, they stirred it with wooden sticks and left in a hurry.

The next morning, the couple found that the water in the jar turned yellow, so they dipped the white cloth in the jar to try dyeing, and the cloth changed from yellow to blue. It turns out that this kind of grass is called blue grass, which can be dyed with proper amount of lime and wine. Since then, the couple have opened a dyehouse, and their business has grown. Only then did I know that these two men were immortals-Mei Fu and Ge Hong. They teach the poor to dye. Until today, in the southeast coastal areas of our country, there is still the custom of offering sacrifices to dye immortals on the Double Ninth Festival in early September every year.

The legend of Chongyang | Juxian

A long time ago, there lived a man named A Niu near the Grand Canal. He lived with his mother since he was a child. Because of hard life and working day and night, my mother became blind. A Niu worked hard and sought medical advice, but her mother's eye disease still didn't get better.

One night, A Niu dreamed that a girl told him that there was a white chrysanthemum on the ceiling swing dozens of miles west along the canal, which opened on the ninth day of September. Cooking soup for your mother with this flower will definitely cure her eye disease.

In the early morning of September 9th, A Niu went to smallpox, and it was not until the afternoon that a white wild chrysanthemum was found in a grass. A Niu dug up this white chrysanthemum with roots and soil, planted it next to his house, and picked a white chrysanthemum soup for his mother to drink every day. After mom finished eating, her eyes began to improve.

Later, the girl told A Niu in her dream that she was a chrysanthemum fairy in the sky, and also taught a song "Planting Chrysanthemum Ballad", "Three points and four heads, watering in May, throwing materials in June, covering her head in July and August, and rolling hydrangeas in September". After careful consideration, A Niu realized the meaning: planting white chrysanthemums should be transplanted in March, plucked in April, watered more in May, fertilized frequently in June, and protected from roots in July and August, so that hydrangea-shaped chrysanthemums can bloom in September.

A Niu did as instructed by the Chrysanthemum Fairy, and sure enough, the white chrysanthemum bloomed. Later, A Niu taught the poor in the village the skills of planting chrysanthemums, and more and more people planted white chrysanthemums in this area. Because A Niu discovered this white chrysanthemum on the ninth day of September, people later called it Chrysanthemum Festival, and formed the custom of enjoying chrysanthemum, drinking chrysanthemum tea and drinking chrysanthemum wine.
