Zhuan Xu (2342 BC-2245 BC) China's ancient tribal alliance leader, one of the "Five Emperors", Ji surname, the number of the Gao Yang clan, the grandson of the Yellow Emperor, the son of Chang Yi. Zhuan Xu's son, Poor Cicada, was the fifth ancestor of Yu Shun. The later Xia and Chu states were his descendants.

Zhuan Xu was born in Ruoshui's field (Shu), and was actually located in Khongsang. Because of the merits of supporting Shao Hao, he was sealed in Gaoyang (present-day Gaoyang Town, Qixian County, Kaifeng, Henan Province). After Shao Hao's death, the ****workers fought with Zhuan Xu for the throne, and Zhuan Xu defeated the ****workers and succeeded Shao Hao as the ruler, with the name "Gao Yang Clan".

After Zhuan Xu became the ****lord of the world, he began his reign in Pansang, moved his capital to Shangqiu (present-day Shangqiu, Henan Province), and then resided in Dichu (present-day Puyang, Henan Province). It is said that he reigned for seventy-eight years and died at the age of ninety-eight, and was buried in Guangyangli, outside the city gate of Puyang Dunqiu, Dongxian County.

The calendar of the early Han Dynasty basically followed the Zhuanxu Calendar, which had been in use since the Qin Dynasty. The Zhuanxu calendar is an ancient tetrad calendar with 3651/4 days as the length of the return year, 29,499/950 days as the length of the lunar month, and nineteen years with seven intercalary leaps.
